Instagram Launches Wellness Guides

You will have seen lots of new features added to Instagram already in 2020, but the exciting features just keep on coming.

Instagram have launched ‘Guides’ and has started by launching ‘Wellness Guides’, to support users during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instagram stated in its blog post:

“Weโ€™ll enable creators to connect with expert organizations to share resources during this time, including tips on how to look after your well-being, maintaining connection with others or managing anxiety or grief.

So what are ‘Guides’?

This new feature will enable chosen businesses and creators to highlight recommendations and tips. These will be presented in a new, dedicated tab. This new Guides tab will highlight collections of posts under chosen topic tiles – it does have a Pinterest feel to it!

“We want Instagram to be a place where you can easily find reliable information and inspiration from your favorite accounts. Thatโ€™s why we are introducing Guides, a way to more easily discover recommendations, tips and other content from your favorite creators, public figures, organizations and publishers on Instagram.

To view a Guide, visit the profile of participating creators or organisations including @heads_together@deepikapadukone, and @eenfance. Then, tap the middle icon to view their Guides.

When viewing a Guide, you will see posts and videos the creator has curated, along with helpful tips and advice. If you want to learn more about a specific post, tap on the image or video to view the original Instagram post.

If you see a Guide you would like to share to your followers, you can share these to your ‘story’ by tapping on the share button in the top-right corner. This is wonderful for sharing content which can support your clients.

In the coming months Guides will roll out to other categories, organisations and partners.

Will you find this content helpful to share with your clients?
